Annual Howard County Green Homes Now Tour is October 1st and 2nd!
The 2016 Howard County Green Homes Now tour is in conjunction with the annual Metropolitan Washington, DC Solar & Green Home Tour on October 1 and 2. The goal of the tour is to show how people in Howard County have been "greening" their homes and living more sustainably. The tour is a great opportunity to ask people about their experiences with going green. The tour includes homes with many different green features including geothermal, rain gardens, green houses, alternative energy vehicles, and of course all types of solar. This year 5 homes and organizations in Howard County are on the tour including the Miller Library and Robinson Nature Center.
The 2016 tour books are now available at solartour.org. Homes are open from 11am to 5pm. Most homes are only on the tour on one of the days so please plan your visits accordingly. See the map of homes in the center of the tour book to help you make the most of both days.
In 2013 the Baltimore Sun had two articles about the tour:
If you have never been on one of the tours and are wondering what to expect if you put your house on the tour, then check out our Green Homes Tour - What to Expect page.
